== What the LPN May Delegate or Assign == Where state law permits, the LPN may direct unlicensed assistive personnel in routine tasks such as bathing and hygiene, feeding patients who are not at high risk for aspiration, ambulation and transfers, positioning, toileting, bed making, measuring and recording vital signs on stable patients, intake and output, and simple specimen collection. The LPN may '''not''' delegate the nursing process itself: assessment, nursing judgment, evaluation, teaching, or any act that requires a nursing license. The LPN also does not delegate to an RN, since delegation flows to a person whose authorized role includes the task.
