=== HU-036: ProctorU proctors routinely made demands during HESI exams going beyond stated policies and substantially disrupting exam performance === {| class="wikitable" style="width:100%" ! style="width:14em" | Severity | High ! style="width:14em" | Status | CONFIRMED |- ! Issue type | ADA Compliance Risk / Unreasonable Testing Conditions ! Date added | 2026-05-04 |- ! Owner | colspan="3" | Dean of Prelicensure Nursing / ProctorU Vendor Management |} '''Finding.''' ProctorU proctors routinely made demands during HESI exams going beyond stated policies and substantially disrupting exam performance, including requirements to show under bed, cover or unplug TVs, display socks and forearms, and sit upright throughout. '''Evidence.''' MSN-DE DEC 2026 COHORT GroupMe (March 28, April 18-19, 2026): Multiple students reported. Student AI was kicked out twice for having mail on her bed. Student E was told to cover his TV and was flagged for being too close to camera. Student AU was asked to show socks. Student S was interrupted 10 times to change her sitting position. '''Reported statement.''' According to the tracker, one student reported being interrupted ten times to change her sitting position and being asked to cover her TV with a sheet, which she refused; another student reported that an exam that started at 2 PM did not finish until 5 PM because proctors kept pausing it and troubleshooting was required to get back in. '''Standards.''' ADA/Section 504: examination accommodations must be available and proctor actions must not create barriers. Repeated proctor interruptions constitute a material disruption of the examination environment. ACEN Standard 4: assessment conditions must be standardized and fair. '''Impact.''' Students experienced extended exam durations, elevated anxiety, and disrupted concentration due to unreasonable and inconsistent proctor demands. For students with documented anxiety disorders, panic disorder, or ADHD, these disruptions have a disproportionate impact. '''Notes.''' Pattern of proctor conduct complaints spans at least two semesters (Fall 2025 and Spring 2026) and involves multiple students in multiple states. This is a vendor management issue for which the institution bears institutional responsibility.
